Adana is a major urban center in southern Türkiye, positioned strategically on the Seyhan River in the heart of a fertile agricultural region. The Taşköprü bridge, built in the 2nd century CE, remains a functioning link across the river. The city is also known for Adana kebab, a spicy minced meat skewer named after it.
